Clinical Supervisor

Summary:

Maintain all rules and regulations according to ACHA, HIPAA, OSHA, and any other regulating organizations that impact our practice.

Conduct clinical staff meetings
Have direct reports of 3-15 staff members
Supervise daily work of MA, and delegate appropriate tasks
Track employee time and attendance and process time off requests
Contribute to employee annual reviews
Foster team work, coach employees, and promote good will
Set up OSHA/CPR training
Trouble shoot computer issues
Orders clinical supplies – maintain ordering within budget
Oversee training of trainers and new MA hires
Create MA schedule, check emails daily, and respond to calls
Ensure all logbooks are being monitored and updated
Ensure all proper labeling for sharps and biohazard, temperature logs, biopsy boxes
Ensure expired drugs, cultures, biopsies, and injections and log appropriate ones
Attend Rep Meetings and disseminate appropriate information.
Conflict resolution
Step in and participate in MA duties when necessary.
Other duties as assigned and Travel between 3 facilities

Medical Assistant


At MacInnis Dermatology we are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant with a positive attitude who will join us in our goal to achieve the highest level of quality care. Our practice strives in patient care and we value our employees and are very proud of our positive work environment.

The Certified and or Registered Medical Assistant will assist the provider(s) with patient care. They will create an atmosphere that reflects the level of standards of care that patients can expect to receive from MacInnis Dermatology. The provider(s) entrusts the goodwill of patients success in this position, the assistant must be cheerful, friendly, polite, tactful, and professional in appearance and manner at all times. They will be able to communicate with the provider and patient and be mindful of patient confidentiality. They will be able to evaluate and respond to a patient's needs and relay the provider's instructions. The successful medical assistant will be a team player and respectful of their co-workers.

Responsibilities

Report to clinical supervisor, practice manager, or other designee.
Perform procedures under supervision of medical provider.
Assist medical provider in exam rooms.
Assist with surgical procedures including MOHS, Excisions, Biopsy, and similar.
Escort patients to exam rooms, triage patients, measure vital signs and document all information in patient's chart.
Give instructions to patients and educate patients as instructed by medical provider.
Ensure all related reports, labs and information are scanned and available in patient's chart prior to their appointment.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and prepare sterilization as required.
Take phone messages, provide feedback and answers to patient/provider and pharmacy calls.
Process messages from patients and front office staff to medical providers.
Maintain all logs and required checks including refrigerator temperatures, autoclave, expired medications, and etc.
Be familiar and compliant with OSHA, Blood Borne Pathogen standards and HIPPA privacy standards.
All other duties as assigned by clinical supervisor, practice manager, or other designee.

Knowledge

Medical assistants must have knowledge of:
Healthcare field and medical specialty
Medical Terminology and ICD-10 codes
Grammar, spelling and punctuation
Basic computer knowledge and EMR (EMA)
Dermatology Experience Preferred

Requirements

Certified/Registered Medical Assistant must be willing and able to travel to Leesburg and The Villages location as required to fit business needs.
High school diploma and formal Medical Assisting training
Good verbal and communication skills
The ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug screen.​
